Our summer season starts on May 16th and runs through November. Preference for applicants who can stay through the entire season, but we do also have some availability for college students who need to work a shorter season.
Outfitter
Filled for Summer 2022 – Please check back for Winter 22/23
As our Outfitter, you will facilitate Steamboat Lake Outpost’s rental program. This takes a highly organized individual who can provide informed recommendations for experiences. The Outfitter is responsible for maintaining the fleet, orienting guests to the machines and the trails, and having a safety-first mindset. Ideal candidate is someone who is motivated to develop their hospitality and outdoor recreation skills.
server
As a server, you’ll be greeting guests and taking orders in our restaurant, which features elevated American fare, as well as craft beers and cocktails. We’ve furnished the space with long tables to create a community space, which you can help to foster through excellent service to our guests. A fast-paced, fun environment.
Wrangler
Filled for Summer 2022 – Please check back for next year
As a wrangler, you’ll be primarily responsible for taking our guests on trail rides through the Routt National Forest and Steamboat Lake State Park, as well as taking care of our herd of 20 horses and maintaining the fences and barn. Looking for experienced riders who are good with both horses and people.
line cook
As a cook, you’ll join Chef Mike in our newly re-designed kitchen, prepping and cooking items off our menu. The kitchen is a fast-paced environment where we work as a team to create great meals for our guests in a timely manner. Great for anyone with a passion for food and learning new skills.
front desk reservationist
As a reservationist, you’ll be the first impression that our guests receive, whether they walk in the door, or contact us via phone or email. The reservationists are the ambassadors of The Outpost and the area, helping guests book lodging and activities. We process store transactions and keep the store stocked and tidy. There are opportunities for development in marketing and other projects if interested.
